Coach Lucas was the President of the OHSFCA 3 times. He was a Regional Director in the OHSFCA starting in 1979.  Coach Lucas spent 22 seasons as the Head Football Coach at Dawson-Bryant High School.  His head coaching record was 154-70-1 (69%).  His teams amassed a 95-24 record in Ohio Valley Conference competition and 7 playoff appearances.  Coach Lucas coached 2 undefeated teams and 14 Ohio Valley Conference Championship teams.  He received 14 OVC Coach of the Year awards as well as the 1990 Southeast District Coach of the Year.  Coach Lucas also coached in the Grange Insurance Ohio All-Star Classic in 1979, 1983, and 1991.
